Quirky Melbourne

posted in: Australia, Melbourne | 54

Hi everyone,

To me Melbourne is not particularly shiny, has no big postcard monuments and no grand harbour. Still, after more than a week in this cool city, I left it heavy hearted. This gem grew on me like no other city I passed through. I liked Melbourne more and more each day. There are so many lovely and quirky places to discover.

  3. Oh my, this all looks so amazing! I feel like I’ve gotten such a beautiful, intimate tour of the city–I love that you included images of the people, too–it is something that not many “travel” like posts do, and I think really tells the story of the city the most! I loooove all of the graffiti and the cake is so strange! What is in it?!

    • Thank you very much dear Allie. First time I have ever seen a black swan. I could have admired its beauty for hours. <3

  22. Yes you did! Melbourne looks amazing. They have super cool graffitis and that cake looks yummy. I haven’t seen something like that. I really want to try it.

    xx

    • Thank you my dear so much! This cake is a reinvention of Australian most popular sponge cake “lamington”, which is normally coated in chocolate icing. It tastes like the Chinese sponge cake but sweeter. Xx

  33. Honestly, Australia has never appealed to me. I was going to move there last year to be with a guy.. but he turned out to be a right knob…. but I never actually saw anything that stood out about Australia to me until THIS post! You’ve portrayed such a beautiful and exciting side is Australia that I wasn’t aware of until now. Your photos are gorgeous and give you such a good feel for the place and OMG those macarons look amazeballs!!!! So do all all of those quirky little cafes and eateries down alleyways! Aw it looks lovely there!!! Loving all the people you photographed too. That’s what I love about bigger places like that (I live in a tiny town!) people experiment and are unique…. they aren’t afraid to make a statement and stand out!

Now I really want to see Aus! Thanks! 🙂
As I’ve just spent all my savings on my ticket is Southeast Asia I’ll have to start saving from scratch again hahaha 🙂

Just followed you! Hope to keep in touch – your blog is epic!!
