Happy Xmas everyone!
Christmas Day is probably the best time of the year to walk around London in piece and quiet. We had a few hours to kill and enjoyed our short stroll through almost empty streets. There’s no public transport and there are no workers. Except in Chinatown and a few of its neighbourhoods, most places are closed. But the emptiness to the streets gives the city a very special sensation.
This is the closed entrance to the Embankment tube station.
Luckily, I found my overdue soy cappuccino to start the day at my all time favourite cafe chain COSTA.
There I am waiting for the green lights on an almost deserted Regent Street.
On Carnaby Street we spotted some people taking in the wonderful Christmas lights and decorations.
